American Mission Hospital

American Mission Hospital (AMH) is both the oldest and one of the most forward-looking medical facilities in Bahrain—and perhaps the entire Arabian Gulf. Established in 1903 as Mason Memorial Hospital, it served as the community’s first, and for decades the only, healthcare provider until government hospitals emerged in the 1940s.

From pioneering the region’s first X-ray machine in the 1940s to opening Bahrain’s most eco-friendly, state-of-the-art hospital in January 2023, AMH has consistently led the way in combining human expertise with the latest medical technology.

As Bahrain’s only not-for-profit private hospital for nearly 120 years, AMH remains committed to providing high-quality, affordable healthcare to the community it has served for generations.
