Description

Jidhafs Maternity Hospital (JMH) aims to provide high-quality gynecology and obstetrics care to a broad patient base. It helps reduce the demand on Salmaniya Medical Complex by allowing it to focus on high-risk maternity cases.

JMH opened in October 1980 with 34 maternity beds. In July 1984, the hospital launched its operating theater and performed its first caesarean section. Between 1989 and 1990, JMH expanded by adding two postnatal wards with a total of 48 beds. It also built a laboratory, pharmacy, and kitchen, and expanded the pediatric ward. Today, the hospital offers 80 maternity beds and 20 beds in the Special Care Baby Unit.
