Long before Bahrain became a regional hub for finance, culture, and modern living, life here was built around the water. Days started before sunrise. Boats drifted quietly into open sea while divers prepared themselves for hours beneath the surface, relying on instinct, endurance, and trust in one another.

The work was repetitive. Demanding. Unpredictable.

Dive. Surface. Breathe. Repeat.

Some days returned with pearls. Others came back empty-handed. Yet every morning, the boats went out again. No shortcuts. No guarantees. Just consistency and the understanding that progress only comes through persistence.

That mindset shaped more than an industry. It shaped a culture.

Even today, traces of that discipline remain embedded in Bahrain’s identity, in the way people work, build businesses, create communities, and continue moving forward regardless of uncertainty.

This issue begins there.

Not with modern Bahrain, but with the foundation that quietly shaped it.

History here has never been defined only by major events or political timelines. More often, it is shaped by response. By the way a country adapts when circumstances suddenly shift beneath it.

Over the decades, Bahrain has lived through moments that tested patience, stability and identity. The Gulf War changed the region. The Arab Spring reshaped conversations across the Middle East. The pandemic brought an unfamiliar stillness to everyday life. Yet somehow, each chapter left the Kingdom more connected to itself than before.

That resilience does not arrive loudly. It reveals itself gradually.

During the pandemic, the phrase “Team Bahrain” stopped sounding like a campaign and started feeling personal. Communities checked on one another without hesitation. There was an unspoken understanding that everyone had a role in helping the country move forward together.

Today, as the region navigates another period of tension, that same atmosphere feels familiar again. Calm. Measured. Steady.

And perhaps that is Bahrain’s real strength. Not panic. Not performance. Perspective.

This is a country that has learned how to continue living while carrying uncertainty with grace.

Leadership can often feel distant during moments of crisis. Statements are released. Protocols are followed. Systems operate behind closed doors.

But reassurance is sometimes far more visible than that.

In recent months, Bahrain’s leadership has projected something quietly powerful: presence.
Bahrain has officially finalized preparations for Eid Al Adha prayers across the Kingdom, with worshippers set to gather at designated prayer grounds and mosques at 5:05 am on Wednesday, May 27.

Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri confirmed that all official Eid prayer grounds across Bahrain’s governorates are fully prepared to receive worshippers, following extensive coordination between government entities, municipalities, maintenance teams, and religious authorities.

According to the announcement, the Sunni Endowments Council formed a dedicated prayer grounds committee that identified and organized all major Eid prayer locations throughout the Kingdom. Special arrangements were also made for expatriate communities, with additional prayer venues allocated at several schools across Bahrain.

A total of 18 main Eid prayer grounds have been designated this year, covering areas including Hidd, Galali, Arad, Diyar Al Muharraq, Muharraq, Busaiteen, Salmaniya, Riffa, Hajiyat, Askar, Zallaq, Hamad Town, Budaiya, Salman City, and New Ramli Housing.

Among the key locations announced are the Eid prayer ground in East Hidd at Al Julaiah neighbourhood, the large Eid prayer ground complex in Diyar Al Muharraq near Al Baraha Souq, the North Riffa prayer ground near Al Istiqlal Walkway, and the Salman City prayer ground located at the northern square of Salman City Coast.

To streamline attendance and centralize worshippers in the designated open prayer grounds, several nearby mosques will temporarily close during Eid prayers. These include Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park Mosque in Hidd City, Abdulrahman Al Zayani Mosque in Arad, Al Baraha Souq Mosque in Diyar Al Muharraq, and multiple mosques across Muharraq, Riffa, Hamad Town, Budaiya, Salman City, and New Ramli Housing.

Some designated Eid grounds, including Salmaniya, Askar Heritage Village, and Zallaq Youth Empowerment Centre square, will continue operating without nearby mosque closures.

Shaikh Dr. Al Hajri stated that the Sunni Endowments Council has completed all operational preparations required to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for worshippers. Preparations include the installation of carpets, sound systems, electronic and electrical equipment, water distribution, and field inspections conducted by specialized maintenance and operations teams.

The preparations were carried out through cooperation with several national entities, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipalities Affairs & Agriculture, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Ministry of Works, Electricity and Water Authority, General Sports Authority, King Hamad University Hospital, and the Bahrain Defence Force.

Additional support was also provided by government hospitals, societies, and expatriate community awareness centres across the Kingdom.

As Bahrain prepares to welcome Eid Al Adha, the nationwide arrangements reflect the Kingdom’s large-scale coordination efforts to accommodate thousands of worshippers gathering for one of the most significant prayers of the Islamic calendar.
