The two-month internship, which commenced on July 1, 2026, attracted more than 400 applicants, with over 300 aspiring game developers selected to participate in an immersive studio-style learning experience. Rather than traditional classroom instruction, interns are working in an environment designed to mirror a professional game development studio, allowing participants to experience the realities of game production while developing technical and creative skills.

According to CEO Kei Hiroki, the initiative represents the company’s long-term commitment to developing local talent, supporting market growth, and contributing to a sustainable gaming industry across Bahrain and the wider Middle East. Participants are currently contributing to the development of SINDABAD, a new video game inspired by the legendary tales of One Thousand and One Nights, giving interns invaluable experience on a live commercial project while working alongside experienced industry professionals.

To further enrich the learning experience, SKRA will host an online seminar featuring legendary Japanese game creator Keiji Inafune, renowned for iconic franchises including Mega Man, Onimusha, Dead Rising, and Lost Planet. The company is also strengthening partnerships with Bahrain Polytechnic and the Euro University of Bahrain, creating pathways that connect academic learning with practical industry experience through research, curriculum development, and future internships.
